Week 12 Start or Sit

Wednesday, Nov 19, 2025 at 8:03 pm ET

This is the Fantasy Nerd's look at the best and worst matchups for Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season. Analysis is aggregated from multiple sources including FN. Rankings are based upon PPR (point per reception) scoring. Given the known conditions, these matchups are the ones to watch and/or avoid.

Please Note: This list does not generally include the elite players that you are going to start regardless of matchup. You don't need us to tell you to start Lamar Jackson, Puka Nacua, or Christian McCaffrey. Instead, we take a look at other players on your team that we believe either have great matchups or should be avoided for multiple reasons. Factors like opposing defense, performance trending, and peer comparisons may influence our decisions.

Start 'em Jacoby Brissett (ARI, QB)
Jacoby Brissett arrives in Week 12 off an NFL-record day (47 completions on 57 throws) when he threw for 452 yards, two TDs and two picks, and he's now posted at least 258 yards and two touchdowns in each of his five starts. He's averaging 314 yards per start with a 10:3 TD-INT mark while replacing Kyler Murray, has scored at least 23.4 fantasy points in five straight games (attempting 44+ passes in three outings and topping 320 yards twice). The matchup is mixed: Jacksonville ranks second in interceptions (13) but has surrendered 21 passing TDs (tied for fourth) and 24.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, though they did hold Justin Herbert in check last week. Given Brissett's volume and recent production, a top-10 fantasy QB is possible this week.

7th Most Pts to QB
Start 'em Matthew Stafford (LAR, QB)
Stafford looked decidedly more ordinary against Seattle but should rebound in Week 12 when the Rams visit Tampa Bay. After three straight games with 4+ passing TDs, he managed just two scores and 130 yards in Week 11 yet still steered L.A. to a win; he leads the league with 27 passing TDs and only two interceptions, bolstering his MVP case. He's been outstanding overall (22:0 TD:INT over his last seven starts) and draws a favorable matchup against a Buccaneers secondary that just gave up six TDs to Josh Allen, so a bounce-back fantasy outing is likely after his 17.2-point effort.
vs

10th Most Pts to QB
Start 'em Kenneth Walker (SEA, RB)
Kenneth Walker enters Week 12 coming off his third 100-yard game after a Week 11 performance of 16 carries for 67 yards and a TD plus three catches for 44 yards - his first touchdown since Week 3 and a season-high in receiving. Coach Mike Macdonald has suggested Walker is earning more opportunities, and against a Titans defense that has been vulnerable to running backs this year he should be the lead fantasy option, with Zach Charbonnet usable as a flex.
vs

7th Most Pts to RB
Start 'em Alvin Kamara (NO, RB)
Alvin Kamara returns in Week 12 after the Saints' bye looking to carry over the momentum from Week 10, when he rushed for 83 yards and topped 100 total yards (14.5 PPR). He's had an up-and-down season, but new QB Tyler Shough could help spark the offense. The Falcons have been a major weakness against running backs - especially since Week 7, when they've allowed the most RB fantasy production in the league - and several backs have topped 12.7 PPR with multiple TDs in that span. With his recent form and a favorable matchup (he's had three straight 15.9+ PPR games against Atlanta), Kamara is a solid No. 2 fantasy option for Week 12.
vs

4th Most Pts to RB
Start 'em Tetairoa McMillan (CAR, WR)
Tetairoa McMillan will look to carry momentum into Week 12 after a breakout performance in Atlanta. The rookie finished with a career-high eight catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns and now has 54 catches for 748 yards and four scores on the season. He's developing better timing with Bryce Young and draws a 49ers secondary that's been susceptible to opposing wideouts - recent weeks have produced big games from the likes of Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch. Fresh off a 33‑point PPR outing, McMillan profiles as a high-end No. 2 receiver in most fantasy lineups.
vs

5th Most Pts to WR
Start 'em Jameson Williams (DET, WR)
Jameson Williams caught four passes for 88 yards and a touchdown in the Week 11 loss, cementing his role as Detroit's WR2 behind Amon‑Ra St. Brown. Despite splitting looks with Brock Wright, Jahmyr Gibbs and Kalif Raymond, he's been remarkably consistent - at least 65 yards and a touchdown in each of the last three games - and since Dan Campbell took over play‑calling he's posted 10 catches for 207 yards and two TDs on 14 targets in those two contests. With Sam LaPorta on IR and his route tree expanding, Williams draws a favorable Week 12 matchup against a Giants secondary that has given up the fourth‑most receiving yards to WRs and ranks fifth in fantasy points allowed, so another strong performance is likely.
vs

6th Most Pts to WR
Start 'em Dallas Goedert (PHI, TE)
Limited to under 30 receiving yards for the third time in four games - just two catches for 24 yards in the 33-16 win over the Raiders - Goedert now draws a favorable rematch with Dallas. The Cowboys rank near the bottom against the pass (249.9 yards allowed per game, 30th) and have conceded 23 passing TDs (31st), and they've given up 12-plus fantasy points to four tight ends since Week 5. Despite scuffling recently (only 12.7 fantasy points across his last two contests), Goedert caught seven balls for 44 yards and 11.4 fantasy points in Week 1 against Dallas, suggesting a good chance to bounce back in Week 12.
vs

11th Most Pts to TE
Start 'em Cade Otton (TB, TE)
Cade Otton should remain Tampa Bay's primary receiving tight end heading into Week 12 at Los Angeles. After a down game versus Buffalo (2-for-5, 28 yards), the fourth-year tight end has otherwise been a reliable safety valve for Baker Mayfield amid the team's injury-marred receiving corps and should continue to see plenty of looks unless Chris Godwin returns. The Rams have recently surrendered a big outing to Seattle's tight end and are middle-of-the-pack in fantasy points allowed to TEs, so Otton - who's had at least four catches in five of his last six games - is worth keeping in starting lineups despite last week's dud.
vs

9th Most Pts to TE
Start 'em Seattle Seahawks (SEA, DEF)
Seattle's defense draws a favorable matchup this week against Cam Ward and a beleaguered Titans offense. Tennessee has given up more sacks than any other team and has cough up 14 turnovers, while ranking dead last in scoring (14.3 points per game) and total net yards (242.5 per game). That combination makes Seattle a strong candidate for a big fantasy outing.
vs

Most pts to DEF
Start 'em Tyler Loop (BAL, K)
Tyler Loop extended a strong rookie campaign in Week 11, hitting all three field-goal attempts and both extra points. He's a perfect 18-for-18 from inside 50 yards (1-for-3 from 50+), and has produced at least three field goals in two of the three games since Lamar Jackson's return. With the Jets proving unusually generous to kickers - especially away from home - Loop, who has posted 12+ fantasy points in three of his last four games, is a reasonable streaming option for Week 12.
vs

Most pts to K
Sit 'em Jordan Love (GB, QB)
Jordan Love was 13-of-24 for 174 yards, two TDs and no INTs, plus two rushes for seven yards in the Packers' 27-20 Week 11 win, but fantasy owners likely wanted more given how porous the Giants' defense has been. His recent 7:2 TD:INT ratio since the bye is respectable, yet the Week 12 matchup with a Vikings unit allowing just 190.5 passing yards per game (seventh-fewest) looks tough - Minnesota has tightened up the last two weeks, holding Lamar Jackson and Caleb Williams to a combined 28.9 fantasy points with only one passing TD and under-200-yard efforts from each. After scoring 21.7 fantasy points vs. New York (and just 16.8 across the two prior games), Love is averaging only 15.7 fantasy points in five home games this year, so he's best used only in Superflex or two-QB formats for Week 12.
vs

12th Fewest Pts to QB
Sit 'em Trevor Lawrence (JAC, QB)
Trevor Lawrence has managed multiple passing TDs just twice in 10 games this season, though he's matched a career-best with five rushing scores. Even if top receiver Brian Thomas (ankle) returns from a two-game absence, Arizona's secondary and Lawrence's recent inconsistency - 17 fantasy points in Week 11 and under 20 in three of his last four outings - make him a shaky single‑QB start for Week 12. The Cardinals are stingy against quarterbacks (seventh-fewest fantasy points allowed), and only a handful of signal-callers - Bryce Young, Daniel Jones and Brock Purdy - have topped 20 points against them. Lawrence has enough ceiling to play in superflex or two‑QB formats, but he's best left on the bench in standard single‑quarterback leagues.
vs

11th Fewest Pts to QB
Sit 'em Tyrone Tracy (NYG, RB)
Tyrone Tracy delivered his best outing of the year in the 27-20 loss to Green Bay, carrying 19 times for a season-high 88 yards and adding 51 receiving yards, but he still splits work with Devin Singletary (16 rushes for 44 yards and two TDs) and even saw a goal-line score taken by Jameis Winston on a QB sneak. A potential Week 12 return by Jaxson Dart could further limit Tracy's red-zone opportunities, and the matchup doesn't help - Detroit is one of the stingiest run defenses (about 99.7 rushing yards allowed per game and tops in fewest fantasy points to RBs). Between the split workload and the brutal matchup, both Giants backs are best viewed as mere flex options for Week 12.
vs

2nd Fewest Pts to RB
Sit 'em Tony Pollard (TEN, RB)
Over the past five games Pollard has been limited to roughly 11–13 touches (about 12) and 51 yards per outing as he continues to split snaps with Tyjae Spears. Tennessee's offense has struggled, averaging a league-low 14.3 points, and Seattle's stout front (holding backs to about 3.6 yards per carry and ranking among the stingiest against the run) makes Week 12 a tough matchup. Pollard has been inconsistent in fantasy - under eight points in four of his last five games and only about 9.5 points per game on the season - so he's only a fringe flex option at best; Spears looks like the safer play.
vs

13th Fewest Pts to RB
Sit 'em Xavier Worthy (KC, WR)
Xavier Worthy's sophomore campaign has been underwhelming - possibly affected by a shoulder injury - as he's reached 50 receiving yards just once in his last six games (22-198-1 on 36 targets) and has just one touchdown this year. He's ceded targets to Rashee Rice and even fallen behind Hollywood Brown in Patrick Mahomes' pecking order, and since Rice's return Worthy has scored 10.3 PPR points or fewer in each of four outings. Facing a Colts secondary that ranks 24th in points allowed to wide receivers in Week 12, his ceiling looks limited because he'll likely function as the Chiefs' No. 3 or 4 option - potentially shadowed by Sauce Gardner - making him only a fringe start in three-receiver formats.
vs

8th Most Pts to WR
Sit 'em Jakobi Meyers (JAC, WR)
In his first two games with Jacksonville, Jakobi Meyers has paced the team with 105 receiving yards and should still see work in the passing game, but the Jaguars are expected to lean on the run in Week 12 at Arizona. He delivered five catches for 64 yards on six targets in Week 11 (11.4 PPR), his best fantasy output since Week 2, but he's still searching for his first touchdown. If injured top receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) returns, Meyers' targets could dip, and while the Cardinals allow about 144.5 receiving yards per game to opposing wideouts, they've yielded just five WR touchdowns all season - making Meyers a reasonable WR3 option only in three-receiver formats.
vs

12th Fewest Pts to WR
Sit 'em Theo Johnson (NYG, TE)
Theo Johnson was limited last week, finishing with three catches for 36 yards in the Giants' 27-20 loss - a step back from his 75-yard effort in Week 10. He could see a boost if rookie Jaxson Dart suits up in Week 12, since the two have shown some rapport and Detroit has surrendered 18 passing TDs this season. Still, Johnson remains boom-or-bust: he posted just 6.6 fantasy points against the Packers, had only four targets in his first game with Jameis Winston, and now faces a Lions defense that's been middling on tight ends and has allowed just 11.1 PPG to the position since Week 8. Consider him a risky streaming option.
vs

11th Fewest Pts to TE
Sit 'em T.J. Hockenson (MIN, TE)
T.J. Hockenson caught three passes for 39 yards on six targets in the Week 11 loss to the Bears - his most receiving yards since Week 7 - but Week 12 against Green Bay looks tough. The Packers have been stingy to tight ends, surrendering just 5.8 yards per target (second-fewest in the NFL), and Hockenson has been limited recently, with single-digit performances in six of seven games and roughly four targets when J.J. McCarthy starts. Given those trends, he's a risky fantasy option despite last week's uptick.
vs

15th Fewest Pts to TE
Sit 'em Tampa Bay Buccaneers (TB, DEF)
Tampa Bay's defense can be a factor in favorable matchups, but this weekend in Hollywood isn't one of them. The offense has been careful with the ball - only eight giveaways - and Matthew Stafford has been sacked just 14 times all season. With elite weapons on the field, the Rams offense is just too tough to contain.
vs

2nd Fewest Pts to DEF
Sit 'em Mike Badgley (IND, K)
Badgley missed both a field goal and a PAT in Week 11, though he had been 19-of-20 on kicks across his previous four outings. Indianapolis' high-powered offense (32.1 points per game) should keep him busy, but a matchup with a Chiefs defense allowing just 18.1 points per game could limit opportunities and push more tries inside the red zone rather than to the kicker. Badgley isn't among the league's most accurate kickers, and he's reached double-digit fantasy points only once in five games with the Colts - Kansas City's stingy home defense has yielded just five field-goal attempts in five home games and only two opposing kickers have managed double-digit scores there - yet the Colts' scoring volume still makes him a viable Week 12 option.
