Week 5 Waiver Wire Targets

Here are five players to target on your waiver wire for Week 5 of the 2017 NFL season.

Alvin Kamara

Alvin Kamara, RB - NO
There has been plenty of talk over the last week that Sean Payton wants to go with two running backs moving forward. After Sunday's game, it would appear that Adrian Peterson is not one of those guys. Mark Ingram and rookie Alvin Kamara carried the load with Kamara incredibly effective in the passing game hauling in 10 catches for 71 yards and a score. If your league is PPR, Kamara should be considered must-own.

Latavius Murray, RB - MIN
When Dalvin Cook went down with a torn ACL, it wasn't Jerick McKinnon who got the nod. It was Latavius Murray. After Cook went out, Murray saw 7 rushing attempts compared to McKinnon's 2. He's not going to be as explosive as Cook, nor is he going to have the job completely to himself, but he's the running back we'd want in that backfield.

Deshaun Watson, QB - HOU
Watson absolutely destroyed the Titans on Sunday not only walking away with a win, but also putting an exclamation point on his name in the running for Offensive Rookie of the Year. He threw for 283 yards and 4 touchdowns while running another touchdown in himself. Best of all, he looked comfortable doing it all. His rapport with his receivers was solid and he's worth rostering in all leagues. If he lands on your roster, give him a week. The Chiefs have a tough secondary next week.

Andy Dalton, QB - CIN
He many not have started the season strong, but Andy Dalton has come on as of late. His four touchdowns this past weekend was the first time he's done that in over three years, but he can be a solid backup QB option with some plus matchups later this season.

Charles Clay, TE - BUF
Believe it or not, Charles Clay is still available in nearly 40% of most league platforms. That's not enough ownership for a guy who has seen a quarter of all of Buffalo's targets and has at least 50 yards or a touchdown in three of the four games this year. He's the third best fantasy TE right now and should be considered a TE1 going forward.
