Trey McBride is shining with Jacoby Brissett as his quarterback, while Saquon Barkley's woes are becoming a trend.

Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon said Monday that QB Kyler Murray (foot) will not be designated to return from IR and practice this week. So he's out for Sunday's game vs. the Rams. QB Jacoby Brissett will make his eighth straight start in that one. He's finished as a top-12 fantasy QB in each of his first seven starts of the season. Sunday will be his toughest test yet against the Rams' sixth-ranked QB defense.

Coach Jonathan Gannon announced Monday that Kyler Murray (foot) won't be designated for return from injured reserve this week, setting up Brissett for another start Sunday versus the Rams, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Kedon Slovis will get at least one more game as Jacoby Brissett's backup. Murray hasn't played since Week 5 and was eventually benched for Jacoby Brissett, who outperformed Murray during his multi-week absence. Murray is under contract through the 2028 season, but there's a good chance his time with the team will come to an end this offseason. The same can be said of Jonathan Gannon, but that's a conversation for another day. The Cardinals don't have anything to play for at this point, and any decisions to part with Murray could factor into whether the team decides to activate him at all over the final five weeks.

Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett threw for 301 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers. He added 16 yards on three rushes. Brissett enters the Sunday night game as the QB8 for Week by ESPN scoring.
