2025 Season Outlooks

Burden was selected by Chicago in the second round of April's draft. He is a bit undersized (his 8.5-inch hands tied for smallest in this class), but he's very young (21) and was highly relied upon and productive during three seasons at Missouri. He's fast with terrific playmaking ability and can align all over the formation. Burden is set to replace Keenan Allen as Chicago's slot man, but there are a lot of mouths to feed in an offense that also includes DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and Colston Loveland. Consistent Year 1 fantasy production is unlikely, so Burden is only worth a late flier.

In 2023, he earned the third-highest receiving grade among Power-Five receivers, behind Malik Nabers and Malik Washington but ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze. This included a top-five yards-per-route run figure, just ahead of Ladd McConkey.
Burden is slated to play the slot role in three-receiver sets. It is difficult to trust a wide receiver for fantasy purposes if they are only playing out of the slot. For example, Khalil Shakir was the Buffalo Bills' best receiver last season, catching passes from the league MVP. He mostly played in three-receiver sets and finished 37th in fantasy points per game.
All optimism on the offense hinges on Caleb Williams’ development. Williams had three games this season with an offensive grade above 80, but ended the season with a passing grade below 60 in five of his final six games.
