Luther Burden's Targets Rise, Playing Time Doesn'tRookie WR Luther Burden III made a team-high 4 receptions on a modest passing day for the Bears against Philadelphia. He tied WR Rome Odunze and TE Colston Loveland for the team lead with six targets and took his 4 catches for 33 yards. Loveland and TE Cole Kmet were the only other Bears to catch more than two balls.
Luther Burden caught 4-of-6 targets for 33 yards in the Bears' Week 13 win over the Eagles, adding a three-yard rush.Burden ended up leading the Bears in receptions on a day where Caleb Williams had to deal with significant wind and also just missed on some throws. The rookie continues to see his volume increase, and there's a lot of reason to believe in the second-round pick in the coming seasons. It's just impossible to treat him as more than a risky FLEX play in 2025, and that's certainly true for Week 14 against the Packers in Green Bay.
Rookie Skill Players Make Impact in Bears VictoryThe Chicago Bears scored 31 points on offense against the Pittsburgh Steelers with three rookies overtaking the veterans in front of them. RB Kyle Monangai went 12-48-1 on the ground outperforming D Andre Swift who only went 8-15-0. TE Colston Loveland went 4-49-1 compared to Cole Kmet s 1-3-0. Finally, WR Luther Burden III surpassed Olamide Zaccheaus again this week with Burden going 3-46-0 on 5 targets while Zaccheaus caught his lone target for 6 yards.
Olamide Zaccheaus caught a six-yard pass in Chicago's Week 12 win over the Steelers.Zaccheaus' catch in the dying moments of the second quarter proved to be his only target. With the Bears finally getting second-round rookie Luther Burden more involved, Zaccheaus has two catches for 11 yards over the past three weeks. He is back to being out of sight, out of mind in 12-team fantasy leagues.
DJ Moore caught 5-of-7 targets for 64 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears' Week 12 win over the Steelers.Sitting on two total touchdowns all year coming into the afternoon, Moore doubled that number with scores of five and 25 yards. No. 1 featured a strong route at the goal line. No. 2 was a free play where Rome Odunze cleared out the middle of the field and Caleb Williams found a wide-open Moore roaming. Awesome stuff, though Pro Football Focus actually charted Moore's snap percentage as slightly decreasing as Luther Burden III continued to get more involved. Still yet to reach 75 yards or catch more than five passes all season, Moore is maxing out as a not particularly high-ceiling WR3. That will remain true for a Week 13 Friday matchup with Philadelphia's elite defense.
