Omarion Hampton rushed 13 times for 56 yards in the Chargers' Week 14 win over the Eagles, adding 11 yards and a touchdown on two receptions.Hampton ceded the start to backfield mate Kimani Vidal but ended with the same number of touches, finding the end zone on the team's first possession of the game on a four-yard strike to the flat. He walked into the end zone thanks to elite blocking from wide receiver Keenan Allen, who managed to take both his cornerback and a linebacker out of the play. Hampton should continue to see his usage ramped up as he works his way back into game shape, potentially in line to see a heavier workload when the Chargers travel to Kansas City to take on the desperate Chiefs in Week 15.
Keenan Allen caught all three targets for 22 yards in the Chargers' Week 14 win over the Eagles.Allen actually led all Los Angeles wide receivers in both catches and yardage on a night quarterback Justin Herbert attempted only 26 passes, but it was his block to spring running back Omarion Hampton's touchdown that should be praised the most. His veteran savvy was on full display as he was able to take both his cornerback and a linebacker out of the play through expert blocking, allowing Hampton to walk into the end zone to cap a successful first drive. Allen has now gone seven weeks without usable counting stats in a fantasy setting, best returned to the waiver wire in shallow leagues.
Tre' Harris caught 1-of-3 targets for 18 yards in the Chargers' Week 14 win over the Eagles.Sadly enough for fantasy managers counting on any Chargers pass-catchers, Harris' 18 yards ranked third on the team behind Kimani Vidal and Keenan Allen. Quarterback Justin Herbert attempted only 26 passes in the defensive battle, leaving little room for lofty fantasy scores to emerge. Harris continues to see spotty volume as the fifth option through the air, best left on fantasy benches ahead of a difficult matchup with the Chiefs in Week 15.
Keenan Allen caught 4-of-5 targets for 30 yards in the Chargers' Week 13 win over the Raiders.Allen was seemingly headed toward a big day. Instead, he delivers a classic, scoreless bummer. All five of his targets were earned on the Chargers' first three drives. He was seemingly getting open at will. Heartbreak struck on the Chargers' third drive when Allen had a seemingly winnable one-on-one situation, running down the right sideline from the Raiders' 23-yard line. QB Justin Herbert targeted him just outside the goal line but the two were unable to connect. Allen is a FLEX option against the Eagles next week.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (finger) returned to Week 13 against the Raiders.Herbert returned partway through the Chargers' second drive. He quickly linked up with WR Keenan Allen and TE Oronde Gadsden II for double-digit yardage gains, but ultimately threw an interception to CB Kyu Blu Kelly from the Raiders' two-yard line. Replays, post-injury, show Herbert bracing his left ring finger as he jogged to the locker room. The finger is now buddy-taped to his middle finger. He is also wearing a glove on his left hand, seemingly packed with padding on the inside. Receiving the snap under center appears to be difficult. The Chargers may have to run plays from the shotgun from here on out.
