Trey McBride
2025 Season Outlooks
McBride has cemented his status as a top-tier Fantasy tight end after a breakout 2024. The behemoth averaged 9.2 targets per game to lead all tight ends, catching 76% of his throws on a short 6.1 average depth of target. If there's a complaint it's that he didn't score enough -- just three total touchdowns (one rushing) despite 20 red-zone targets and nine end-zone targets. He has seven career touchdowns in 49 games. McBride will definitely be one of the first two tight ends taken on draft day with a pick as soon as Round 2. He's enough of a differentiator at tight end to give your Fantasy squad an advantage every week, especially leagues where catches count.
Since stepping into a starting role in Week 8 of the 2023 season, McBride has an enormous 28.4% target share (9.0 per game). He averaged 6.8 receptions, 69.3 yards and 15.4 fantasy points per game during the span. He was the poster boy for bad TD luck in 2024, totaling three scores (two receiving) despite finishing second at the position in targets, catches, yards, end zone targets (10) and fantasy points. McBride's TE-high 7.9 expected TD total speaks to his bad luck and, though he also didn't score much in 2023 (three TDs on 108 targets), he's a candidate for a big improvement in the area in 2025. McBride is a strong bet to lead all tight ends in fantasy points.
McBride led the league in both receptions per game (6.9) and receptions per route (0.21) last season. His yards per game (71.6) and targets per game (8.7) were both second-best. He’s achieved an 89.9 receiving grade over the last two seasons, which is second-best among tight ends behind George Kittle.
McBride averaged 15 PPR points per game in 2023 once he became the starter and 15.2 PPR points per game last season.
The Cardinals kept the same head coach, offensive coordinator, quarterback, top three tight ends, top four wide receivers and top three running backs from last season, making it realistic to expect McBride’s snap rate and target to remain similar to last season, relatively to most every other tight end.
