Breece Hall
2025 Season Outlooks
Hall has gone from a top-five pick in Fantasy in 2024 to someone to consider beginning in Round 3 in 2025. He finished as RB17 per game in PPR and averaged only 4.2 yards per carry, a far cry from the 5.8 yards per carry we saw in his explosive 2022 rookie season. Where has that version of Hall gone? If he can regain his form -- now two years removed from a torn ACL -- Hall could be a steal in drafts. There is a lot to like: Hall was a top-seven RB per game in PPR leagues in each of his first two seasons, the Jets should run the ball more this year (they were 26th in RB carries in 2024) and the Jets offensive line could be a strength. But with Justin Fields at QB, expect fewer catches for Hall and expect Fields to steal touchdowns near the goal line. Factor in that new head coach Aaron Glenn said he wants to get three Jets RBs involved, and you see why Hall's upside feels limited. Treat Hall like a solid RB2, and if he starts making big plays again you'll have a legit RB1 on your hands.
The 2024 season was a major disappointment for the Jets and that also applies to Hall's fantasy output. The 2022 second-round pick was a clear-cut fantasy RB1 during his first two seasons (eighth in PPG in 2022, sixth in 2023) prior to falling to 17th in 2024. Hall remained a clear lead back (only four RBs played more snaps) and was a force as a receiver (top 5 in routes, targets, catches and yards for the second season in a row), but pedestrian efficiency and rushing volume kept him outside the top 12 RBs in touches, yards and TDs. Hall is a good back and in his prime at age 24, so there's certainly so post-hype appeal in a new scheme with Justin Fields in at quarterback, but it's also likely that he'll share more work with Braelon Allen. Hall is best as a mid-range RB2.
Hall’s fantasy production decreased from 17.1 PPR points per game to 15.1 PPR points per game, primarily due to a decrease in target rate from 28.8% to 19.5%. That is unlikely to bounce back with Justin Fields as the quarterback.
Hall plays notably better on gap runs compared to zone, finishing with 5.6 yards per carry on gap runs and 3.7 on zone. The Jets' new offensive coordinator, Tanner Engstrand, comes from the Detroit Lions, who had the sixth-highest rate of using zone runs last season.
Hall was the subject of trade rumors during the draft. New head coach Aaron Glenn said they plan on using all three running backs, and the coaches come from the Lions, who used a committee in the past. This all suggests a decrease in Hall's playing time this season.
