49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk caught just two balls for 37 yards in the Week 6 win over the Seahawks. QB Brock Purdy threw it just 28 times in this one, but Aiyuk's four targets were tied with FB Kyle Juszczyk for fourth on the team behind TE George Kittle, WR Deebo Samuel, and WR Jauan Jennings.
Aiyuk secured two of four targets for 37 yards in the 49ers' 36-24 win over the Seahawks on Thursday night.
Coming off by far his best game of the year, Aiyuk posted a season low for targets as Brock Purdy attempted a modest 28 passes. George Kittle led the team with six targets, though five players commanded at least four looks. It's maddening that Aiyuk continues to see such inconsistent usage, but we know he can't keep finishing below 50 yards forever. He will be needed for much more in Week 7 against the Chiefs, though that's a tough matchup for any wideout.
With each of Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle finally healthy of late, gravity has returned for slot man Jennings, who has just four grabs for 40 yards over the past two weeks. He has seven catches across his past three appearances. With injuries deepening and bye weeks raging, Jennings is probably waiver wire fodder in most standard-sized 12-team leagues.
Coach Kyle Shanhan hinted as much on Thursday but wouldn't confirm it. Practicing will just be step one for a first-rounder who was having a mixed camp even before his extremely unfortunate off-the-field incident. It's possible Pearsall is slowly ramped up before returning following the 49ers' Week 9 bye. Pearsall is going to have a difficult time carving out 12-team re-draft value behind Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle.
