Dalton Kincaid Has to Figure Out Left Knee Ahead of 2026Bills TE Dalton Kincaid "has a torn PCL he was playing through," according to teammate Dawson Knox. Buffalo's other starting TE revealed that on the podcast of former Bills C Mitch Morse. Just how long he played through it is less clear, but there's a chance this injury affects his start to 2026.
Speaking on Monday Mornings with Mitch, Bills TE Dawson Knox said Dalton Kincaid played the entire 2025 season with a torn PCL.Bills beat writer Ryan Talbot notes that "a source close to Kincaid confirmed what Knox said" on the podcast. This certainly comes as a bit of a surprise. Kincaid, who popped up on multiple injury reports this season due to a knee injury, apparently played through the entire season with a PCL injury he suffered in 2024, which caused him to miss some time. We would assume that surgery will be in Kincaid's future to correct the issue after he was limited to just 253 routes run this season on a career-low 368 offensive snaps, but we've yet to see anything from the team to suggest that. Kincaid averaged an impressive 2.70 yards per route run in his limited action, but the Bills offense will be better off in 2026 if they can have him on the field for a full assortment of snaps.
Dawson Knox caught 3-of-5 targets for 32 yards in the Bills' Divisional Round loss to the Broncos. The one target that will stand out the most is Josh Allen missing Knox for what could have been a game-winning touchdown in the final seconds of regulation. It's a pass the two have connected on multiple times throughout the years, but the ball simply sailed over Knox's head and into the end zone. On the season, Knox played in all 17 games, five more than his tight end teammate Dalton Kincaid, totaling 417 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 36 catches. The 29-year-old is set to make $10.7 million next season, but the Bills could opt out of that deal and take $7.4 million in dead cap if they wanted to. It's a situation to monitor this offseason, but that's a large dead cap hit for a team to take.
Bills coach Sean McDermott said Dalton Kincaid being in a walking boot after the game was "precautionary."Kincaid appeared to struggle to get up after his fourth-quarter touchdown catch and will likely be spotted on the injury report this week. That's nothing unusual for Kincaid, who has been on it with a knee for weeks now. It's possible Dawson Knox becomes a bigger part of the game plan this week, though practice reports will tell more of that story than we know right now.
Dawson Knox caught all three of his targets for 30 yards in the Bills' Wild Card Round win over the Jaguars.Knox, Brandin Cooks, and Dalton Kincaid all tied for second on the team in catches. Khalil Shakir led the way with 12 grabs and 82 yards. Knox is a reliable backup tight end and a plus blocker, but his fantasy outlook is limited. He needs to get in the end zone to pay off and that has only happened four times this year. Knox is only worth a look in large-field DFS tournaments for the Divisional Round.
