Week 9 Waiver Wire Targets

Here are five guys to target on your league's waiver wire for Week 9 of the 2017 NFL season.

Alex Collins Ravens

Alex Collins, RB - BAL

If you watched last Thursday night's game, there's no way that you missed the lone bright spot on the Ravens offense this year. Alex Collins was easily the most dynamic and effective offensive weapon that Baltimore has. He put up 113 yards on 18 carries and added two catches for 30 yards. It's not often that you get a starting running back on the waivers in Week 9, but with ownership hovering from just 30% (Fleaflicker.com) to around 40% (ESPN, Yahoo), that means that Collins may still be available on the wire. Go get him.

Jamison Crowder, WR - WAS

His 8 catches for 119 yards on Sunday night got a lot of folks' attention. One out of every three throws from Kirk Cousins was to Crowder. Josh Doctson and Terrelle Pryor were very quiet in comparison. The only downside to Crowder right now is that he has tough matchups against Seattle and Minnesota, so the payoff may have to wait.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR - PIT

After watching his 93-yard touchdown, I tweeted that JuJu just said bye-bye to Martavis Bryant. Even without that monster touchdown, Smith-Schuster looked to be an active part of the Steelers' offense. It remains to be seen what role he'll play with Bryant back in the mix, but if you have a spot on your bench, JuJu is worth rostering in 12-team or deeper leagues. If Bryant gets traded, his value goes up considerably.

Jack Doyle, TE - IND

We're not expecting a monstrous 12-catch, 121-yards, and a score from Jack Doyle every week, but he's challenging T.Y. Hilton for the lead in targets. He's had at least 7 targets in each of his last four games and there doesn't seem to be a reason to slow down. Doyle deserves to be considered in the TE1 discussion going forward.

Mohamed Sanu, WR - ATL

Sanu reminds us a little of Roddy White in that he can play that possession receiver role. He hauled in six of his seven targets on Sunday for 74 yards and a score. He actually led the team in both targets and catches. He's still available in more than half of all leagues across all major platforms.

You think Ajayi and Benjamin will still be week to week starters?

@RaiderLuv4LIFE - Yes, I think so. There's still a lot of talent there. In Ajayi's case, I think he gets a boost in value. Benjamin remains to be seen.

@blitzburgh1010 - I'd hate to give away Bell, but if you want the upgrade at QB, it's equitable. PPR I assume?

What other sleeper TE do you recommend if Doyle is gone? Kittle, Higbee?
