Week 8 Waiver Wire Targets

Here are five guys to target on your league's waiver wire for Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season.

Week 8 Waiver Wire Targets

Dion Lewis, RB - NE

Conventional wisdom would say that Mike Gillislee is the man when the Patriots are inside the 10-yard line, but that wasn't the case this week. Dion Lewis saw two carries inside the ten before Gillislee was stopped on third and goal from the one yard line. Lewis has led what is consistently a difficult-to-guess backfield in rushing yards for the last three games and touches for the last two. He should be owned in all formats.

Ted Ginn Jr., WR - NO

Ginn has been playing above his typical norm pulling in 7 catches for 141 yards against Green Bay on Sunday and 4 catches for 66 yards and a score. He's not going to do that every week, but he's playing the best football of his career. Oh yeah, and he has that guy Drew Brees throwing to him...

Cooper Kupp, WR - LAR

With Patrick Peterson blanketing Sammy Watkins, it was Cooper Kupp who saw a team-high 10 targets. He's averaging six targets per game, 3 catches, 1/2 TD, and 45 yards per game. In deeper leagues, he has the potential to be a WR3/4 with a favorable matchup for the fantasy playoffs.

Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington, RB - OAK

Depending upon what happens with Marshawn Lynch (suspended one game), Richard and Washington may have limited fantasy value, but there's still value there for those who need it. The two split the workload after Lynch was ejected from last Thursday night's game. Both guys could play an RB3/flex role in deeper leagues in Lynch's absence.

Latavius Murray, RB - MIN

There's little doubt that the off-season ankle surgery that has been affecting Latavius Murray is now a thing of the past. He had 18 carries last week - enough touches to make him fantasy relevant, and 113 yards and a score to make fantasy owners happy. He'll remain in a timeshare with Jerick McKinnon, but if the Vikings are ahead, we'd expect Murray to see plenty of touches to control the clock. In PPR, we'd rather have McKinnon, but there's an argument to be made for Murray in standard scoring. He should be a nice play in Week 8 against the Browns.

How do you feel about Josh Doctson?

I like Doctson. He plays a ton of snaps (though not as many targets as I'd like). By all accounts, it looks like he has surpassed Pryor on the depth chart.

If you were looking to trade Jordy Nelson right now, who are some players you could target

Maybe a Keenan Allen, Michael Crabtree, or Tyreek Hill?
