Foster and B-Dubs Are Alright, Leftwich Is Not

The countdown is on to the start of the 2011 NFL season and I can't wait. From my perspective, so much time has been devoted to FantasyFootballNerd.com over the past few months that I feel like the 2010 season never ended. With all that effort, it's easy to forget why we do this. I was reminded of the "why" when I got an email from Scott, an FFN user and participant in one of the FFN Users Leagues. Scott's in Raleigh, NC where he was grazed by Hurricane Irene as she ravaged their coastline. As he said, we play for those moments. His "fantasy moment" was when he was losing his matchup and only had Chris Johnson left. It's 3rd down with 1:40 left on the clock and the Titans are 35 yards away from the endzone. Yes - CJ2K ripped it off and that 35 yard score put Scott over the 100 yard mark giving him bonus points and the win by only a fraction of a point. That's why we play this game and that's what I'm looking forward to. It's kind of like golf - one amazing shot makes everything worthwhile.

Here's a quick update on a new feature - you can now import your ESPN teams into the Lineup Analyzer. ESPN joins Fleaflicker.com, NFL.com, Yahoo.com, and MyFantasyLeague.com as options for automatic imports. One caveat though - if your ESPN league is private, FFN won't be able to access it.

This is the busiest weekend for drafts. I hope yours are going well. Hopefully you're at your local Buffalo Wild Wings drafting live against your friends. Click here to reserve your draft party. B-Dubs is the coolest place for this and will give your league $100 in free food (certificates for future visits), a free draft party kit, and free wi-fi to research your picks. If you were one of the people who took my advice back in June and signed their "Save the Season" petition, BWW is getting ready to pay up! You should get your coupon for 6 free wings shortly. One word - yummmm!

If you were one of the millions who collectively gasped when Arian Foster went out during the last game, relax. Reports are that he'll be ok for Week 1. He tweeted "4 those sincerely concerned, I'm doing ok & plan 2 B back by opening day. 4 those worried abt your fantasy team, u ppl are sick" which basically confirms a long-held theory - I am sick. Yep.

While he won't be your starting QB, Byron Leftwich is out for the season. "I don't have the time he is going to be out, but I am sure it will be an extended period of time," Mike Tomlin said.

Looking for a last minute draft guide? Check out Bruno Boys. Their guide is always something that I look forward to reading. They have their Top 150 Rankings broken down by position, consensus and individual staff rankings, sleepers, rookies, and standard/PPR choices. Speaking of Bruno Boys, I look forward to beating Allie from Bruno Boys in Week 7 of the FFN Experts League!

If you are a Madden fan, there's still 2 weeks to get your $5.00 Off Coupon on any EA SPORTS game if you like FFN on Facebook. How simple and sweet is that!
