Import Yahoo and FleaFlicker Rosters

Saturday, Oct 17, 2009 at 12:00 pm ET

If you have a team on either Yahoo or FleaFlicker, you can now import that team in the FFN Lineup Analyzer with a single click.

When creating a team, you can specify the league platform along with your League ID and Team ID. There is a guide below the form to show you where to get those two values. If you already have a team created, click the "Edit" link below the team name to modify your team.

Once you've added your league information, you'll find an Import button on the Roster page. Simply click the Import button and FFN will retrieve your roster. It's handy when creating a team or modifying a team after you've added/dropped players in your league.

I have leagues on Yahoo, FleaFlicker, and CBS, however, FFN is unable to retrieve rosters from CBS. I know there are many other platforms out there. If you want to see your league added, please let me know.

Hmm. Neat idea. Can't seem to get it to work for my Yahoo league, though. Any thoughts?

C_WIG CommentedOct 18, 2009 11:00 am

Same here yahoo leagues seem to be on the fritz

Nerd CommentedOct 18, 2009 11:00 am

Copernic - I tried to access your league. C_WIG - I tried to access both of yours. I get the same error from both "You are not allowed to view this page because you are not in this league. (Error #152)". If these are private leagues, FFN won't be able to access them. I'll shoot an email to Yahoo to see if there's a way that FFN can access those rosters, but I won't hold my breath on a response.

Sorry guys. If FFN can't access the league, it can't pull your rosters for you.

Can you get this to work with MyFantasyLeague.com??

Copernic CommentedOct 20, 2009 11:00 am

Nerd,

Thanks for trying. I think it is private. Oh well.

Nerd CommentedOct 20, 2009 11:00 am

Yes - I'm pretty sure we can add MyFantasyLeague.com. They're a great bunch of guys over there and they have an API. I'll get that on the schedule asap.

posty CommentedOct 22, 2009 11:00 am

Thanks Nerd, that would be a great addition...

Nerd CommentedOct 22, 2009 11:00 am

MyFantasyLeague.com is now available.

Enjoy.

huevosverdes CommentedOct 23, 2009 11:00 am

How about ESPN?

Nerd CommentedOct 23, 2009 11:00 am

I don't have a league on ESPN and it's too late to create one. If someone can provide me with their league's URL, I'd be happy to take a look.

stewartd CommentedOct 24, 2009 11:00 am

It would be great to have Fox Fantasy at some point.

posty CommentedOct 25, 2009 11:00 am

MyFantasyLeague doesn't appear to be working...

Nerd CommentedOct 25, 2009 11:00 am

posty - it looks like MyFantasyLeague's API dynamically changes the subdomain. When it does that, they're returning an HTML document with a 302 Found error which is odd considering that it's supposed to be an API. When FFN tries to load the response, it's expecting an XML doc with all the teams in your league.

I'll contact them and see if I can get a more reliable URL for their API.

posty CommentedOct 26, 2009 11:00 am

Thanks Nerd... Please keep us informed...

Nerd CommentedOct 26, 2009 11:00 am

It doesn't look like MyFantasyLeague.com has a static, reliable endpoint for their API. It works fine if you know in advance what server of theirs your league is on. I can build in a workaround to find out the server first and then call the API. More to follow.

Nerd CommentedOct 26, 2009 11:00 am

I think I have the MyFantasyLeague.com work-around in place. FFN will determine the server first and then go get your roster. I've tested and it looks good.

Nerd Nerd he's our man, if he can't fix it noone can!

Btw, I do love the analyzer. I actually don't use it until AFTER I set my lineups for the week. I like to go with my gut and knowledge before I see how I fair vs. the experts.

Great idea Nerd!

Still no go Nerd... I have tried my team ID as 0008 and 8 and I still am getting an empty roster...

Nerd CommentedOct 28, 2009 11:00 am

Hi posty - I just tried it with your league id and team id and it worked just fine. I also tried it as you (team Hitmen) and it worked.

After you click on the import button with the MFL logo on it, a box will come up with your team. Click on the green "Import This Team" button to actually import your updated roster.

Also - be sure that you have javascript enabled.

Don't worry about the 0008 or 8 for the team ID. FFN converts it to an integer and also converts the team ID from MFL into an integer for comparison purposes.

Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you still experience any difficulties.

posty CommentedOct 28, 2009 11:00 am

Thanks Nerd... For some reason at work, I didn't see the Import MFL logo button, but I do see it on my home computer... Sometimes my work blocks pictures...

Thanks for you help and patience and great work as always...

Great tool! Very nice work Nerd!

Private Yahoo leagues still not working??

Also, out of curiosity, what fantasy football sites does your Ranking/Analyzer poll to aggregate its rankings?

Soulsykk CommentedOct 30, 2009 11:00 am

NM, found this info on your site!

"The Nerd compares rankings from sites such as NFL.com, ESPN.com, CBS Sportsline, FOX Sports, Fantasy Football Calculator, Bruno Boys, Fantasy Football Toolbox, Fantasy Sharks, and more to produce the Internet's best fantasy football rankings system."

LLP CommentedAug 31, 2012 11:00 am

Hey I just paid to join FFN and the yahoo leagues is not importing my team.

I get this message from FFN:

"Import Team Roster We're terribly sorry but FFN could not import your team."

Have tried bunch of times over the last 2 days. PLEASE fix or issue me a full refund ASAP. Thank you.

Nerd CommentedAug 31, 2012 11:00 am

LLP - I didn't see a Yahoo league on your account. I only see an ESPN league setup under your account and I can import your league without any difficulties. I will follow up with you via email and see if we can figure this out.

Drunk Segal's CommentedSep 13, 2017 11:00 am

I entered all the correct info required and when trying to import Yahoo private team I get this message: Error: We were not able to retrieve your roster. Please be sure you have authorized us access and that your league ID and team ID are correct.

Nerd CommentedSep 13, 2017 11:00 am

@DrunkSegals - Yahoo is experiencing an issue with their API. Right now, Yahoo is returning an "Internal Server Error" on all requests. This only affects private leagues. We have notified them and are working on a separate plan if they can't/won't fix their issue.
