NBC SportsAustin Gomber was charged for four runs in six innings in a loss Thursday to the Guardians.

All four runs were courtesy of the long ball, as he gave up a three-run homer to Tyler Stephenson in the third, and a solo blast to Santiago Espinal an inning later. The southpaw hurler did strike out five, but he allowed seven hits in a start that you'd have to squint awfully hard to find the positive in. Gomber ends his first half with a 4.61 ERA, and outside of the occasional stream against the bottom dwellers, he isn't a viable fantasy starter at this stage of his career.

NBC SportsSantiago Espinal homered in a blowout win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Espinal also singled. The 29-year-old filled in for Elly De La Cruz and swatted his fifth homer of the year with a solo shot off Austin Gomber. Espinal doesn't play enough or play effectively enough when he's in the lineup (.203/.249/.302) to consider him in any type of fantasy format.

NBC SportsVinnie Pasquantino swatted a solo homer on Saturday in the Royals' loss to the Rockies.

Pasquantino's sixth-inning blast off Rockies starter Austin Gomber was his 11th deep fly of the season and represented the lone run for Kansas City in a rare low-scoring affair at Coors Field. The 26-year-old first baseman is batting .305 (18-for-59) with four homers and 13 RBI over his last 15 games.

NBC SportsAustin Gomber yielded one run over seven innings on Saturday in a win over the Royals.

Gomber authored one of his better performances of the season, carrying a shutout into the sixth inning before coughing up a solo homer to Vinnie Pasquantino, which represented the lone tally against him over seven strong frames, to pick up his second win of the year. He struck out three and didn't hand out a free pass. The 30-year-old lefty has underwhelmed once again this season, but we're at the stage of his career where fantasy managers probably aren't counting on him outside of NL-only formats. He'll bring a lackluster 4.47 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 62/24 K/BB ratio across 94 2/3 innings (17 starts) into a road matchup on Thursday against the Reds.

TheRotoFeedRockies Will Listen To Offers On Cal Quantrill, Austin Gomber

The Rockies have a reputation for hanging onto — and at times extending — veterans who would be likely trade candidates with other organizations. In recent years, they’ve declined to trade Trevor Story, Jon Gray, Daniel Bard, C.J. Cron, Brent Suter and others despite sitting near the bottom of the standings in the National League.…
