Brieske has the ability to work multiple innings, but won't be able to go the necessary five to qualify for a victory even if he does leave with a lead. The Detroit Tigers are moving veteran right-hander Kenta Maeda to the bullpen for the foreseeable future, manager A.J. Hinch announced Thursday, according to MLB.com's Jason Beck.Maeda has struggled this season, posting a 2-5 record with a 7.26 ERA, a 1.58 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings (16 starts).
