Alvarez got the easiest leg of the cycle out of the way with a single in the first inning. He then crushed a 429-foot solo shot off of Bryan Woo in the fourth inning to get the Astros on the board. The 27-year-old slugger drove in the team's second run with an RBI triple in the sixth inning that pulled them to within a run at 3-2. He then stepped up to the plate in the eighth and roped a double into the right field corner before racing around to score on an RBI knock off the bat of Chas McCormick. He becomes just the second member of the Astros in the past 10 years to hit for the cycle, joining Jose Altuve. On the season, Alvarez is now slashing .301/.385/.545 with 20 homers and 54 RBI.
