Fantasy Football Tiers - Kickers
In fantasy football, "tiers" are a way of grouping players based on their expected performance level for the season. The idea is to break players down into categories that represent similar value, making it easier to make strategic decisions during a draft or when making trades.
If you understand where there are drop-offs in talent, you can make a more informed decisio about when to draft certain positions or players based upon how many similar-quality options are still available. If you're deciding between two players in the same tier, it's a much closer decision, whereas if you're deciding between two players in different tiers, you can usually go with the higher-tiered player.
By using tiers, you can also see when it might be better to wait on a position (because there are several players left in the same tier) or when it's the right time to grab a player before the next tier drop-off.
