2022 Season Outlooks

Jones is getting a fresh start with the Jaguars, and he could emerge as a waiver-wire option for Fantasy managers this year. Jones is not worth drafting in the majority of leagues, but he is someone to monitor in training camp. Jacksonville has revamped its receiving corps with Christian Kirk, Evan Engram and Jones joining the Jaguars. Jones will hopefully become a top target for Trevor Lawrence, and we've seen Jones average 10.3 PPR points per game once upon a time in Buffalo in 2018. In every other season, Jones has been at 6.2 PPR points per game or less, so keep that in mind. But hopefully he can take advantage of his new opportunity in Jacksonville and become a potential Fantasy option this year.
A former Round 2 pick, Jones’ career-best season (56-652-7 on 102 targets) came back in 2018 with Buffalo. The Jags tossed him a bunch of money in free agency. But he’s unlikely to finish any higher than 3rd in targets for a passing game that’ll undergo a lot of change. Jones should go undrafted outside of deep leagues.
Jones signed with Jacksonville after spending his first five NFL seasons with Buffalo and Las Vegas. The 2017 second-round pick didn't work out with the Bills and was a backup for most of his first 2 1/2 seasons with the Raiders, but he emerged as one of Derek Carr's top targets after last season's Week 8 bye. From that point on, Jones averaged 6.3 targets per game while working primarily as a vertical threat (11th-highest average depth of target). The usage didn't allow much production (43.1 yards per game and zero TDs) and Jones remains without a top-30 fantasy campaign for his career. The 27-year-old will compete for a starting gig in Jacksonville, but he's a long shot for a big enough role to allow consistent fantasy production. He belongs on waivers.
Zay Jones was another offseason signing for the Jaguars and he came on strong at the end of the year for the Raiders including their playoff game. He has the potential to overtake Shenault as the third receiving option. Jones caught 47 passes for 546 yards and a touchdown with the Raiders last season.
