AJ Barner caught 4-of-5 targets for 35 yards in the Seahawks' Week 13 win against the Vikings.Barner has taken on the unquestioned TE1 role in the Seattle offense. On Sunday against the Vikings he ran a route on 25 of the Seahawks' 32 drop backs and was second on the team in targets. Elijah Arroyo logged just nine routes against Minnesota. While it will require an increase in pass volume for Barner to be a legit 12-team fantasy option, his usage is good enough for fantasy managers to roster him in deeper formats. He gets the Falcons in Week 14.
Elijah Arroyo did not catch either of his two targets in the Seahawks' Week 11 loss against the Rams.Arroyo, who has more than two receptions in just one game this season, ran a route on 16 of the Seahawks' 49 drop backs while AJ Barner was second on the team with 11 targets. He caught ten for 77 yards in a career game. It looks like Barner has taken over as the Seahawks' top pass-catching tight end. Arroyo can be left on the waiver wire.
AJ Barner caught 10-of-11 targets for 77 yards in the Seahawks' Week 11 loss against the Rams, adding two rushes for one yard.Barner headed into Week 11 had never had more than seven targets or seven receptions in a game. His profile was immaculate against the Rams: Barner ran a route on 40 of the Seahawks' 49 drop backs and was second on the team in targets, drawing a target on 27.5 percent of his routes, a (very) strong rate for a tight end. He showed no ill effects from the calf injury he dealt with last week. Elijah Arroyo, meanwhile, ran 16 routes and caught one of his three targets. If Barner has seized the TE1 role in the Seattle offense, he could be an intriguing addition to fantasy rosters in Week 12 and beyond.
