Elijah Arroyo News

NBC SportsSeahawks ruled out TE Elijah Arroyo (knee) in Week 15 against the Colts.

Arroyo has been ruled out, as expected, after injuring his knee last week. Seahawks starting TE AJ Barner is a TE1 streaming option, though his weekly box score results have been very volatile. Barner occasionally takes snaps as the team's tush-push quarterback.

NBC SportsSeahawks coach Mike Macdonald said TE Elijah Arroyo (knee) is "out right now."

Macdonald told reporters earlier this week that it was unlikely Arroyo would suit up on Sunday. His comments today all but confirm that. A.J. Barner will see a full complement of routes with Arroyo sidelined. Barner is a low-end TE2 heading into Week 15.

NBC SportsSeahawks TE Elijah Arroyo (knee) left Seattle's Week 14 game against the Falcons and did not return.

Arroyo has faded down the stretch as he hasn't cracked two targets since October 20. He suffered the knee injury in the first half and Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald didn't have an update on him after the game. This injury won't create much new fantasy value for the Seahawks, who are already struggling to feed enough targets to their non-JSN receivers.

NBC SportsSam Darnold completed 20-of-30 passes for 249 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Seahawks' 37-9, Week 14 win over the Falcons.

Darnold got off to a disastrous start in the first quarter. His first drive ended after three plays via a sack. His third drive ended in just as many plays with an interception. Throwing on the run, Darnold targeted a thoroughly covered Elijah Arroyo. The pass was easily deflected and fell into the hands of Mike Hughes. Tied 6-6 coming out of halftime, things were looking astonishingly bleak. Rashid Shaheed then gave the team a shot in the arm with a kick-return touchdown and the Seahawks were off to the races. Darnold would go on to score three touchdowns and a field goal on his next four drives. Atlanta did not stop Darnold from scoring once during the second half. Seattle's final drive ended with a punt, but Drew Lock had taken over by that time. After a rocky start, Darnold exorcised some demons against the Atlanta secondary in the second half. He will remain on the QB1/2 border for his date with the Colts next week.

NBC SportsAJ Barner caught 4-of-5 targets for 35 yards in the Seahawks' Week 13 win against the Vikings.

Barner has taken on the unquestioned TE1 role in the Seattle offense. On Sunday against the Vikings he ran a route on 25 of the Seahawks' 32 drop backs and was second on the team in targets. Elijah Arroyo logged just nine routes against Minnesota. While it will require an increase in pass volume for Barner to be a legit 12-team fantasy option, his usage is good enough for fantasy managers to roster him in deeper formats. He gets the Falcons in Week 14.
