Tez Johnson caught 1-of-2 targets for five yards in the Bucs' Week 13 win over the Cardinals. With Bucky Irving finally back in action and Chris Godwin getting more involved, Johnson's usage cratered. The only time he made a noticeable impact in the game was when his second quarter OPI penalty took a Rachaad White touchdown off the board. Johnson should continue to soak up snaps and run routes in this short-handed offense, at least until Mike Evans returns. It's just not providing WR4 numbers in fantasy with the playoffs almost here.
Chris Godwin Expected To Play Week 12ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (fibula) is expected to play vs. the Rams tonight. HC Todd Bowles said that'd likely be the case on Friday. We don't know whether Godwin will play a full slate of snaps in his first action since Week 5, though. Try to leave him on fantasy benches. Godwin's return makes WRs Tez Johnson and Sterling Shepard much shakier fantasy bets. Check your Team Dashboard to see if any of these guys make sense in your starting lineup. Update: ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Bucs "will be mindful" of Godwin's workload tonight. "Will likely be on something of a pitch count," Fowler adds.
Chris Godwin A Full-Go ThursdayBuccaneers WR Chris Godwin (fibula) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. That should have him on track to play vs. the Rams on Sunday night. We wouldn't trust Godwin in fantasy lineups in his first action since Week 5 -- and just his third game of the season. But his return makes WR Tez Johnson a much shakier fantasy play.
Chris Godwin Limited Again WednesdayBuccaneers WR Chris Godwin (fibula) remained limited in Wednesday's practice. It's unclear if he'll make it back for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams. Godwin shouldn't be in your Week 12 fantasy plans, but his return would make WR Tez Johnson a shakier play.
Tez Johnson caught 1-of-3 passes for six yards in a Week 11 loss to the Bills. He also rushed three times for zero yards. Johnson has been a nice story as a seventh-round rookie, but he has never topped 60 yards receiving in a game, so his fantasy value is excessively tied to touchdown value. That makes him really difficult to trust, especially next week against the Rams.
