2025 Season Outlooks

Etienne was selected by Carolina in the fourth round of April's draft. Travis' brother was effective as both a rusher and receiver (3.46 YAC, 3.8 forced missed tackle rate and class-best 91% catch rate) during his three seasons at Florida and Georgia. Size (5-foot-8, 198 pounds) could limit his NFL workload ceiling, but Etienne has a three-down skill set and is one of the youngest backs in this class. He'll spend his rookie campaign developing behind lead back Chuba Hubbard and likely Rico Dowdle, and will eventually battle Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks for work in a suddenly crowded Carolina backfield. Etienne is worth rostering only in deep and dynasty leagues.

Etienne was one of several undersized running backs in the 2025 draft, below the 25th percentile among running backs in height, weight and arm length. This will likely limit the number of touches he sees each game.
Head coach Dave Canales has minimal experience with undersized backs. He’s had players like Raheem Blackshear and Chase Edmonds on his rosters, but they’ve primarily been used in passing situations.
The good news for Etienne and the rest of the Panthers' running backs is that Carolina has put together one of the best run-blocking offensive lines in the league. Carolina had a 73.1 team run grade last season, which was seventh-best among teams.
