Rams first-round draft pick Jared Verse is selected the NFL's defensive rookie of the year. The Bills' Josh Allen wins MVP ahead of Eagles' Saquon Barkley.
He beat out Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, among others, for the award.
Verse is the third Rams player to win the award
Verse was named the winner of the award after receiving 37 of the 50 first-place votes. The 24-year-old was a force for the Los Angeles defense in 2024 while picked up 4.5 sacks and four forced fumbles; and those numbers really don't tell the story of how impactful he was while helping the Rams to a division title. Quinyon Mitchell finished second with nine first-place votes, and Verse's teammate Braden Fiske finished third.
Verse was named the 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year on Thursday, Josh Dubow of The Associated Press reports.
