The veteran tight end was coming off a down season marred by injuries and Jacksonville had Brenton Strange waiting in the wings. Despite the disappointing end to his Jaguars tenure, Engram had multiple suitors in free agency including the Broncos and Chargers. He now heads to Denver where Sean Payton has been yearning to find a player to fill his joker role ever since he signed on with the team. Engram is in line for plenty of short-area targets and screens as a potential YAC creator for Bo Nix. If he can earn enough volume, Engram should stick at the back of the TE1 ranks for at least one more year. The new deal includes $16.5 million in guaranteed money.

Former Jaguars TE Evan Engram will be joking HC Sean Payton and QB Bo Nix in Denver. His deal is worth $23 million with $16.5 million fully guaranteed. With a glaring hole at TE, Engram should have a prominent role with the Broncos.

The Broncos' No. 2 quarterback the past two seasons, Stidham was one of the first players coach Sean Payton signed in 2023. The job has become lower stakes following Bo Nix's excellent 2024 rookie campaign, but Stidham still lacks the experience you would typically like in a clipboard holder. He has made only four career starts since arriving in the league in 2019. That being said, Payton clearly highly values Stidham's input in the quarterback room. Just don't expect him to save the season if Nix ever goes down.
