2025 Season Outlooks

After racking up over 5,000 total yards in his final season playing in the SEC, I guess we shouldn't have been surprised when Daniels broke out as the QB5 per game as a rookie averaging 23.9 Fantasy points per game in 2024. Daniels finished second in rushing attempts and rushing yards behind only Jalen Hurts. This provided his weekly floor and ceiling. Daniels' Fantasy stock is boosted by a rock-solid scheme to fit his skill set delivered by OC Kliff Kingsbury -- one only the Cowboys found a way to stymie in 2024. The Commanders added Deebo Samuel (a perfect scheme fit) and more importantly Laremy Tunsil to protect his blind side. This year you have to pay a hefty price for Daniels -- and he even comes off the board as QB2 in some drafts -- but his upside makes him well worth his Round 4-5 price tag.

Daniels is entering his second NFL season after what was arguably the greatest rookie season ever by a quarterback. The dual-threat playmaker was productive as a passer and even better as a rusher, ranking no lower than third among QBs in carries, rushing yards, rush TDs, carries inside the 5 and scrambles. Daniels produced 355.8 fantasy points, which trails only Cam Newton (370.3) for most by a rookie. He showed a high ceiling, having delivered 24-plus points in eight games, including his final five full regular-season outings). Entering Year 2 with an even better supporting cast that now includes Deebo Samuel Sr. and Laremy Tunsil, Daniels has a strong case to be the first QB off the board in fantasy drafts.

Jayden Daniels averaged 23.7 fantasy points per game last season in games he both started and finished, which ranked third-best among all quarterbacks.
His 148 rushing attempts and 891 rushing yards finished second at the position, as Jalen Hurts earned the most attempts and Lamar Jackson accumulated the most yards. He was particularly impressive in how often he scrambled, finishing with 4.4 scrambles per game that led to 35 scramble yards, which were both the best for quarterbacks.
Daniels was above average in yards per attempt on passes behind the line of scrimmage, on intermediate passes and deep passes, but below average on short passes. Washington traded for Deebo Samuel Sr., who, over the past five years, averaged 11.4 yards per reception on short passes, the most among the 133 wide receivers with at least 50 short targets.
