It was a low-passing volume day for the Bengals, with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins taking most of Joe Burrow's attention. With Chase Brown and Zack Moss also taking some of the short-yardage, checkdown looks, Iosivas was an afterthought and saw just one target. Moving forward, Iosivas is best left on fantasy benches unless one of Higgins or Chase will miss time.
the lone target Iosivas failed to corral was one directed his way in the end zone. Joe Burrow simply failed to get enough on the ball when forced to throw off his back foot in the face of pressure, narrowly missing on an under-thrown ball in the middle of the end zone. Iosivas has returned inconsistent fantasy production throughout the season, making him a difficult start in managed leagues moving forward.
Iosivas has now been held to one catch in back-to-back games, though they've gained 68 yards. Today's chunk grab set the Bengals up at the Ravens' two-yard line in the third quarter. Valuable stuff for the Bengals in real life, but Iosivas has faded from WR5 fantasy relevance as Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins continue to stuff the stat sheet ahead of Week 6 vs. the Giants.
The first five-touchdown performance of Burrow's career somehow wasn't enough in the Bengals' latest one-score loss. There was nothing more Burrow could have done, save for not throwing a fourth quarter pick where Marlon Humphrey ran Ja'Marr Chase's route for him. Before that, Burrow had found each of Chase and Tee Higgins for multiple scores, with Chase contributing 41- and 70-yarders. Chase and Burrow keep hooking up for monster plays this season in a way they hadn't the past few years. Burrow also found role players Andrei Iosivas and Mike Gesicki for a few chunk gains, with Iosivas at one point setting the Bengals up at the Ravens' two-yard line. Burrow has put the team on his back, but the defense -- and kicker Evan McPherson -- keep breaking. Burrow will nevertheless be an elite RB1 for Week 6 against the Giants.
