Rashid Shaheed caught 1-of-3 targets for seven yards in the Seahawks' Week 13 win against the Vikings. adding one rush for nine yards.Shaheed has lost all of his fantasy value since being traded from the Saints to the run-first Seahawks. He now has four receptions over four games with Seattle, and he's not being used as a downfield threat the way he was in New Orleans. Against the Vikings he ran a pass route on 20 of the team's 32 drop backs and was targeted on 10 percent of those routes. Shaheed doesn't need to be rostered in 12-team leagues and won't be fantasy relevant unless Seattle struggles with wideout injuries in the coming weeks.
Cooper Kupp caught 2-of-4 targets for 24 yards in the Seahawks' Week 12 win over the Titans.Like every non-Jaxon Smith-Njigba Seahawks pass catcher, Kupp's usage fell off a cliff with the 'Hawks not having to chase points like they did in Week 11 against the Rams. Rashid Shaheed has stolen surprisingly few Kupp targets since his northwest arrival, but Kupp remains stuck on a two-catch floor as he spikes very few weeks. He is more WR5 than WR4 at this point, especially with all 32 teams active like they will be in Week 13 as Seattle hosts the Vikings.
Rashid Shaheed was held without a catch on two targets in the Seahawks' Week 12 win over the Titans. With the Seahawks going back to their run-based ways against the hapless Titans, Shaheed had his worst game yet as a Seahawk. Through three games in Seattle, he now has just three catches for 30 scoreless yards. With Jaxon Smith-Njigba continuing to dominate at every level of the field, Shaheed is having a harder time than expected carving out deep looks. Whereas he was an every-week option on the WR3/4 borderline in New Orleans, Shaheed has fallen out of the top 48 for the time being, including for Week 13 against the Vikings despite their proclivity for giving up big plays down the field.
Devaughn Vele caught 3-of-7 targets for 37 yards in the Saints' Week 12 loss to the Falcons.Vele saw the uptick in usage expected after Rashid Shaheed was dealt at the trade deadline. He tied for second on the team with seven targets and caught three. He primarily saw intermediate targets, totaling 37 yards, most on the season. Vele will have involvement in the post-Shaheed offense, though his upside is capped in the Saints offense. He is worth a look on waiver wires heading into a Week 13 matchup against the Dolphins.
Seahawks placed WR Tory Horton (shin) on injured reserve.Horton had already been ruled out for Week 12 after also missing Week 10 and Week 11, mean he will miss a minimum of six games while dealing with a shin injury that popped up before the team's Week 10 contest. His absence means far less than it otherwise would had the team not traded for veteran Rashid Shaheed at the deadline, something that now looks more substantial considering Horton's placement on injured reserve.
