Jordan Mason News

NBC SportsAaron Jones (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Jones suffered a shoulder injury in the Vikings' Week 13 loss to the Seahawks and is believed to be day-to-day. He gets in a limited practice to begin the week, a good sign he will be ready to suit up Week 14 against the Commanders. If Jones cannot go, Jordan Mason will have the lead back role.

Draft SharksAaron Jones' Shoulder Injury Not Believed To Be Serious

The Vikings do not believe the shoulder injury that knocked RB Aaron Jones from Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks is serious, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "He is likely to be considered day-to-day," Schefter adds. It sounds like Jones has a chance to play vs. the Commanders this weekend, but we'll keep a close eye on his status. Jones' absence would Jordan Mason into a fantasy RB2. He averaged 15.0 carries, 1.8 targets, and 75.3 total yards in the four games Jones missed earlier this season.

NBC SportsAaron Jones is believed to be day-to-day after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 13's loss to the Seahawks.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jones "is likely to be considered day-to-day" with his injury. Jones exited in the third quarter of Sunday's shutout loss to the Seahawks and didn't return to the field. The phrasing in Schefter's report suggests the Vikings are still waiting to get a final word on Jones' injury, but it sounds like he avoided the worst. If he is day-to-day, Jones will have a chance to suit up in Week 14 when the Vikings face the Commanders this week, but if he's unable to go, we can expect Jordan Mason to step into a lead role with Zavier Scott likely working in on passing downs.

NBC SportsZavier Scott had three rushes for 17 yards in the Vikings' Week 13 loss against the Seahawks, adding one catch for four yards.

Scott could see an increased role in Week 14 if Aaron Jones misses time with the shoulder injury he sustained in the second half of the team's loss against Seattle. Jones has a history of shoulder ailments and was quickly pulled from the game. Jordan Mason would likely take over as the Vikings' lead back, but it could be Scott who takes on the pass-catching tole with Jones sidelined. Scott had a six-catch game in Week 3 with Jones out. He should be picked up in deeper leagues.
