There are several players set to cash in
Hendrickson, who led the league in sacks last season, will now shop around as the Bengals sort out extensions for Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
According to Russini, the Bengals continue to tell teams that Higgins is unavailable, as they continue to seek a long-term deal with the sixth-year receiver. Higgins' is unlikely to get his new deal until Ja'Marr Chase signs his extension, as Chase's extension is expected to reset the market for non-QBs following his 127-1,708-17 season. Higgins would have been the most sought after player on the free agent market had the Bengals not opted to tag him. It's not too surprising to hear teams are still trying their hand at acquiring him even after the Bengals announced their plans to tag and extend him this offseason.
Iosivas appears locked in to the third receiver role for the Bengals heading into the offseason, and with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins hardly in settled contract situations, there's probably a little upside left to tap here. "I thought he made a lot of big plays this year. I thought he really filled that role well," Pitcher told the team's website. "His skill set afforded us the flexibility to really move Ja'Marr as much as we moved him." With Jermaine Burton needing a bounceback year after a rough first season where he was made inactive multiple times right before kickoff for disciplinary reasons, Iosivas seems like the best bet to hold value in deeper leagues as Cincy's third wideout at the moment.
The combination of money always being available and a forward-thinking general manager often have the Eagles out in front of potential problems in negotiations, and it makes plenty of sense to make sure Barkley is happy after his 2,005-yard season (in just 16 games) in 2024. Adam Schefter reports that Barkley will be the NFL's first running back to make more than $20 million a season and has also procured $36 million fully guaranteed at signing. Barkley's transcendent season was rewarded with a whopper of a contract, one that other running backs will likely be trying to argue they deserve for the next 5-10 years. Barkley will be one of the top running backs off the board in 2025 fantasy drafts. Depending on what happens with Ja'Marr Chase's contract situation, Barkley could be considered at No. 1 overall in most fantasy drafts this August.
