49ers RB JaMycal Hasty (ankle) will return for Sunday night's game vs. the Colts. He's been out since suffering a high-ankle sprain back in Week 2. Hasty operated as San Francisco's #2 RB -- behind Elijah Mitchell but ahead of Trey Sermon -- before going down. We'll see where he slots in the pecking order now, but Mitchell is the only viable Week 7 fantasy play in this backfield.
Elijah Mitchell faces a tough Colts defense, but his role is too good to worry about. See how likely he -- and all players -- are to give us a good fantasy performance this week.
Rookie Elijah Mitchell has emerged as the 49ers' starting running back and leading rusher.
Here is a look at how much action each 49ers player saw on offense, defense and special teams.
49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) is not listed on the final injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. Mitchell was operating as San Francisco's lead back before the Week 2 shoulder injury. RB Trey Sermon has been decent in his place the last 2 weeks, so it's unclear exactly how work will be divvied in Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. Our guess is that Mitchell takes back over the lead role, but both he and Sermon look like risk/reward RB3 plays unless we hear more before kickoff.
