The team is keeping three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster
Broncos head coach Sean Payton said last weekend that he thought the team would keep three quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster and that prediction was proven correct on Tuesday.
It s seemed likely for some time that first-round pick Bo Nix would win Denver s quarterback competition.
Denver Broncos backup QB Zach Wilson will make the roster after final cuts are made Tuesday, according to coach Sean Payton.
Bo Nix is the obvious lock to make the roster here, while Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham were left to battle it out for the QB2 role. Wilson played on all but one drive for the Broncos on Sunday, throwing for 251 yards and two scores while rushing for another. Wilson played well enough this preseason to justify being kept on the roster if the Broncos wanted to keep three quarterbacks. Assuming Payton isn't sending smoke signals on this one, it sounds like they are more than ready to carry three signal-callers entering Week 1, with Nix already named the starter.
