Seahawks RBs Ken Walker (ankle) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. RB Travis Homer (knee) was limited. So Homer is out to the early lead in the race to be Seattle's Week 14 lead back. He's worth adding in most fantasy leagues while we continue to monitor this backfield over the next few days. The Seahawks also have RB Tony Jones on the active roster and RBs Wayne Gallman and Darwin Thompson on the practice squad
RENTON, Wash. (AP) Pete Carroll right away gave an honest assessment of where the running back room stands with the Seattle Seahawks. ''Well, we got a little walkthrough done so far and Tony Jones (Jr.) looks really good,'' Carroll said on Wednesday. Carroll had only vague updates about the status of starter Kenneth Walker III, and backups Deejay Dallas and Travis Homer after injuries left Seattle's backfield thin in the second half of last week's win over the Los Angeles Rams.
The Seahawks signed RB Wayne Gallman to the practice squad. The 28-year-old carried just 28 times for the Falcons last year but has a pair of 100+ carry seasons with the Giants on his resume. Gallman is no better than a league-average back -- but there's a chance he plays a real role for Seattle this week with RBs Ken Walker, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas dealing with injuries.
Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker is dealing with a strain on the inside of his foot, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The injury is not believed to be serious, and the team reportedly doesn't even consider him out for Week 14 at this point. We'll see how the week progresses for the rookie back. If Walker does miss the game, Seattle would replace him with some combo of DeeJay Dallas, Travis Homer (who was inactive Sunday) and Tony Jones Jr.
More tests today #Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker will have tests today on what coach Pete Carroll called a "jammed" ankle. The injury -- the hope is it's not serious -- is different from a sprain because the joint jammed down and not one side or the other. Strange injury. Anyway, tests coming. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter) FF Today's Take: Walker only played 21% of the snaps before leaving with his ankle issue. Tony Jones and DeeJay Dallas picked up the slack. Travis Homer was Inactive. Walker was one of many injuries in Week 13 that caused headaches for fantasy owners.
