2021 Season Outlooks

Brown finally returned to NFL action in 2020 by joining Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Although at times he flashed what made him so unstoppable with Pittsburgh (the ability to create separation at all three levels with explosive after-the-catch ability), he put it all together in just one game. Brown was efficient in the red zone and has been at his most efficient there (small sample size) with Brady. Although the path to volume in Tampa seems blocked, talent and rapport can win out, making Brown a plus late-round flier.
Joining the Bucs at midseason, Brown went on to finish as the WR22 over the final 8 games (14.6 PPR PPG). He nearly out-produced Chris Godwin (15.8 PPG) over that stretch. Now, will a larger sample producer similar results? Our sense is that Brown’s 2020 production is on the high-end of what he can accomplish in Tampa Bay. But if an injury strikes Godwin or Evans, the former Steeler could be a league-winner.
Brown re-signed with the Buccaneers after his tumultuous year-plus out of the league came to end when he joined the team in Week 9 last season. Including a trio of playoff showings, Brown appeared in 10 games along with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans and averaged 5.9 targets (16% share). His fantasy point total during the span extrapolated over 16 games (177.6) would've ranked 38th during the regular season. A WR-high 24% of his targets were screens, which limited Brown's yardage, but he didn't drop a ball and was great after the catch (5.8 RAC). The 33-year-old is third in line for targets behind Evans and Godwin in a high-scoring offense, so he's certainly on the flex radar in 12-team leagues.
Antonio Brown returns to Tampa Bay after a partial season in 2020 due to suspension. Brown saw a hearty 61 targets, rivaling Mike Evans (63) and Chris Godwin (55) for tops on the team over the half-season sample. Brown squeezed targets from Scott Miller notably and Brown's addition came over a few games after O.J. Howard was lost for the season. With Howard expected back, projecting any Tampa Bay option for more than 120 targets is a lower-probability endeavor. Brown is an enviable WR3 for an NFL depth chart, a luxury for the loaded Tampa Bay offense.
