Mike Hughes is questionable to return against the Buccaneers in Week 14 with an ankle injury.Hughes is currently undergoing X-rays, and it seems more likely than not that he won't be back for the contest. Cobee Bryant will replace Hughes at corner for the time being.
Sam Darnold completed 20-of-30 passes for 249 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Seahawks' 37-9, Week 14 win over the Falcons.Darnold got off to a disastrous start in the first quarter. His first drive ended after three plays via a sack. His third drive ended in just as many plays with an interception. Throwing on the run, Darnold targeted a thoroughly covered Elijah Arroyo. The pass was easily deflected and fell into the hands of Mike Hughes. Tied 6-6 coming out of halftime, things were looking astonishingly bleak. Rashid Shaheed then gave the team a shot in the arm with a kick-return touchdown and the Seahawks were off to the races. Darnold would go on to score three touchdowns and a field goal on his next four drives. Atlanta did not stop Darnold from scoring once during the second half. Seattle's final drive ended with a punt, but Drew Lock had taken over by that time. After a rocky start, Darnold exorcised some demons against the Atlanta secondary in the second half. He will remain on the QB1/2 border for his date with the Colts next week.
Adonai Mitchell caught 8-of-12 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' Week 13 win over the Falcons.Well alrighty then. So far only known in New York for his drops transferring from Indy, Mitchell displayed sure hands as he erupted for the first 100-yard receiving day of his short career. The highlight was a 52-yard touchdown where he simply ran by CB Mike Hughes, only to have to come back to the ball and make an excellent catch near the goal line. It was proof of concept that if the Jets kept giving Mitchell opportunities, he would eventually reward them with big plays. You don't need us to tell you Mitchell will remain inconsistent down the stretch, but the fact he has finally established spiked week potential makes him much more lively as a WR4. The Dolphins are another plus matchup for Week 14.
Tyrod Taylor completed 19-of-33 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 27-24, Week 13 win over the Falcons, adding eight rushes for 44 yards and a second score. Not the world's most amazing box score, but certainly better than what Justin Fields had been providing. Taylor also lost a potential second passing score when John Metchie dropped what looked like a TD early in the fourth quarter. For the touchdown Taylor did convert, he hit Adonai Mitchell after the boom/bust wideout ran right by Mike Hughes. It wasn't Taylor's best throw, but one Mitchell adjusted to. This being Taylor, he also got shaken up on a big second half hit but thankfully avoided any missed snaps. He will undoubtedly be sore on Monday, but Taylor should be out there for a plus Week 14 date with the Dolphins. He will find himself on the QB2/3 borderline in superflex leagues.
