Nathan Jahnke s 10 biggest reactions to NFL Week 7, including Nick Chubb's return and what it means for the Cleveland Browns.
Chubb rushed the ball 11 times for 22 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Bengals. He added one receptions on three targets for 10 yards.
Chubb returned to play for the first time in 13 months, when he suffered a severe knee injury where multiple ligaments were impacted. He saw over half the backfield snaps in the first half, getting 10 carries and running 10 routes. This culminated in a touchdown for the Browns' only score of the day with Chubb punching it in to roaring cheers from the Cleveland crowd. He was limited in the second half and was inefficient, as expected for a back coming back from the injury he suffered. Chubb will continue to ease back in and will be in the high-end RB3 mix Week 8 against the Ravens.
Strong was the backup to the returning Nick Chubb, getting four touches in the Browns' Week 7 loss. He saw much of the backfield looks in the second half, working ahead of D'Onta Foreman, who had two carries for five yards. With Jerome Ford (hamstring) out, the Browns' backfield is going to run through Chubb with some of Strong and Foreman. Neither of the two are fantasy relevant unless both Ford and Chubb are out.
The Browns may be without their starting quarterback, but they did get something going on offense late in the first half.
