KPRC2's Aaron Wilson reports Texans QB coach Jerrod Johnson will interview for the Eagles' offensive-coordinator vacancy.Johnson interviewed for the Dolphins' offensive-coordinator vacancy earlier this month but ultimately lost out to Bobby Slowik. Johnson has served as the Texans' quarterbacks coach since 2023, and worked with the Colts (2020-2021) and Vikings before that. Should he leave for Philly, Johnson, who has never served as an offensive coordinator, would benefit from having proven veterans like Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley already in the building.
Brian Daboll could be headed to Philadelphia Eagles as offensive coordinatorDaboll could get to design offense for Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.
Eagles done with offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo: 5 candidates to get Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley on trackPhiladelphia had a below average offense, ranking 19th in scoring (22.3 PPG) despite being loaded with talent in 2025
Eagles fired OC Kevin Patullo. In a stunning repeat of the 2023 season, the Eagles lost their offensive playcaller to head-coaching waters, replaced him in-house, and the house proved unable to live up to the talent on the roster. Certainly nobody should be struggling to make A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith prime parts of the offense, nor should an offensive coordinator not be able to find a way to make in-prime Saquon Barkley and this offensive line be pathologically unable to crack 100 yards in a game. And, well, Patullo did both those things. It's possible he takes a smaller role on the Eagles staff. Philadelphia's offensive coordinator position is right up there with Detroit's as one of the best openings in the league. They will undoubtedly find an outside candidate interested in working with Jalen Hurts, Barkley, Brown, and Smith.
Kevin Patullo gets the axEagles OC fired after one season Sources: Eagles fired offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Eagles now will be going on their fifth OC in five years, with two of them leaving for head coaching jobs. (ESPN - Adam Schefter) FF Today's Take: While injuries certainly played a role, the last two seasons in Philadelphia showed us how much difference a good - not to mention experienced - offensive coordinator can make. Kellen Moore had this offense looking nearly unstoppable at times last season, while Patullo - a first-time play-caller - needed only a few weeks before he looked as though he was in over his head running an NFL offense. Expect Philadelphia to replace him with an established offensive mind and for players like Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown to bounce back in 2026.
