Simons injured his arm when he hit the floor awkwardly on a dunk attempt. With the game being well out of reach, the Blazers guard's night ended at that point. Coach Chauncey Billups said during his postgame presser that the team didn't think the injury was too bad, but Simons was still being evaluated. Scoot Henderson would likely move into the starting lineup if he has to miss time.
Henderson's efficiency remains a work in progress, but he's reached double figures in three of Portland's first four games. There have been signs of improvement, but Anfernee Simons' presence in the starting lineup limits Scoot's fantasy ceiling. He's currently a player to add to watch lists for standard league managers in preparation for the post-trade deadline portion of the season.
Once again, Henderson came off the bench, but it isn't like his playing time took a significant hit. The second-year point guard has played 28 minutes in both of Portland's games, recording reputable stat lines in losses to the Warriors and Pelicans. Henderson has been efficient, shooting the ball reasonably well (14-of-27 FGs) while boasting a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Hopefully, he can build on these recent performances, as that would make Scoot worthy of consideration in more fantasy leagues.
Henderson led the Trail Blazers in scoring while coming off the bench and playing 28 minutes. He wasn't particularly efficient with his shooting and missed all five of his three-point attempts. Henderson was -30 in the 35 point loss to Golden State.
This is a pretty big lineup alongside Anfernee Simons, who will be the startnig point guard for this game. That means that Scoot Henderson will come off the bench during the first game of his second season. This bodes well for both Avdija and Camara's value in 9-cat leagues, though only Deni will be worth rostering at this point.
