Both point guards were sidelined for their blowout loss to the Clippers on Wednesday, but they'll be back for their matchup with the other Los Angeles team. This will be Russell's return to LA to take on his former team that traded him a couple weeks ago. Tyrese Martin started in their last game, but he'll return to playing a reserve role.
With Cameron Johnson (ankle) out again Wednesday, Wilson was due to see more minutes off the bench. With the game completely out of hand early, the 24-year-old small forward ended up on the floor for 34 minutes. He scored 16 points, which led the team, and was -35, though that mark was bested by most of the starters including Tyrese Martin, who was -56 in the 59-point loss.
Martin and Clowney will enter the starting lineup to replace Cameron Johnson and Ben Simmons, who are both sidelined for the second night of this back-to-back. Claxton is back in the lineup after missing Tuesday's game with a hamstring issue.
Martin is back in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Claxton hasn't missed a game since November, but if he is sidelined for this one. Noah Clowney would likely get the start at center, but he has already been part of the starting unit recently. Tyrese Martin or Jalen Wilson should fill the void in the starting unit, if Cam Johnson isn't back.
