Suggs will not need surgery for a fractured right thumb suffered on Monday in a loss to the 76ers.
Magic rookie Jalen Suggs will not need surgery on his fractured right thumb and will be reevaluated every two weeks before a decision is made on his return to the court, the team said Tuesday.
The slumping Orlando Magic finally caught a break, but it was one they could do without. Jalen Suggs, selected fifth overall by Orlando in the 2021 NBA Draft, will be sidelined for "an extended period of time" after suffering a fractured right thumb on Monday during the Magic's 101-96 loss to the host Philadelphia 76ers. Suggs exited with 17 points, five assists and three rebounds as Orlando watched its losing streak reach seven.
The No. 5 pick last draft will miss at least a several weeks.
