Tatum joins Jaylen Brown (knee) and Jrue Holiday (shoulder) on the injury report. With Boston potentially down three starters, Boston could roll with Payton Pritchard, Derrick White, Sam Hauser, Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis as the starting five. Porzingis (illness) is off the injury report, giving Boston some additional depth back in the frontcourt.
Announced as a starter for Saturday's game, Porzingis has been scratched due to an illness. Luke Kornet and Payton Pritchard will have added importance within the Celtics rotation, with the former moving into the starting lineup. Kornet joins Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Al Horford in the first five.
With Kristaps Porzingis (illness) being a late scratch, Pritchard was one of the Celtics' "supporting cast" members who stepped up. He shot 6-of-8 from three, and the 25 points are the most he's scored in a game since December 12 (27 vs. Detroit). Over the past two weeks, Pritchard has been a top-50 player in 8-cat formats. He's been more valuable than many fantasy managers expected, and the Celtics reserve is the clear favorite to win Sixth Man of the Year.
Holiday sat out Thursday against Dallas, and Al Horford started in his place. Horford and Payton Pritchard should both see boosts in playing time while Holiday is sidelined.
Pritchard was due for an expanded role with Jrue Holiday (shoulder) out and he ended up playing 33 minutes off the bench. The 27-year-old point guard had the most points he's had in a game since December 29. Pritchard also pulled down six boards and had a playmaking role with six assists. Holiday is dealing with a right shoulder impingement, which could linger, setting up Pritchard for more of these games in the future.
