Drew Eubanks (thumb) will not return to Thursday's game against the Nuggets.Eubanks exited Thursday's game after playing just under four first-quarter minutes after suffering a right thumb injury. The severity and how much time he could potentially miss won't be learned until Friday, but Eubanks' exit leaves the Kings light on options in the post. Maxime Raynaud will play plenty, with Precious Achiuwa slotting into the backup center role. That has also opened up rotation minutes for Doug McDermott.
Precious Achiuwa finished Monday's loss to the Pacers with 11 points (5-of-9 FGs, 1-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots.Achiuwa has not started a game since November 20, but the absence of Domantas Sabonis (knee) has freed up additional minutes for him, among others. The former first-round pick has reached double figures in five of his last seven appearances, but the overall production has not been good enough to merit being rostered in most leagues. Maxime Raynaud (13/9/3 in 23 minutes) made his second straight start on Monday and remains the superior streaming target while the Kings await Sabonis' return.
Precious Achiuwa recorded 14 points (6-of-7 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday's loss to the Suns. While Drew Eubanks (4/10/2/1 in 14 minutes) has filled the void in the starting lineup left by the injured Domantas Sabonis, Achiuwa has been more valuable to fantasy managers over the past week. Rostered in three percent of Yahoo! leagues, he has been five rounds more valuable than Eubanks in nine-cat formats. Neither Achiuwa nor Eubanks should be considered a must-roster player, but the former should be the preferred option for managers in dire need of a post player.
