Tyler Herro: Considered day-to-dayHerro (toe) is considered day-to-day, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
Simone Fontecchio accumulated 12 points (5-of-11 FGs), four rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and two three-pointers in Monday's loss to the Raptors.Fontecchio was a late addition to the Heat lineup, as Tyler Herro (toe) was scratched shortly before tipoff. The 6-foot-7 forward had a good night, recording a complete stat line. Whether Fontecchio's fantasy ceiling is raised depends on whether Herro has to miss more time. That said, some minutes may have opened up when Nikola Jovic departed Monday's game with a potentially serious right elbow injury.
Nikola Jovic (elbow) will undergo an MRI on his right arm on Tuesday.Jovic injured his right arm when he landed awkwardly after being fouled by Toronto's Collin Murray-Boyles on a dunk attempt during the first half of Monday's game. While team trainers applied an air cast to the forward's arm before he left the court, X-rays came back negative. More will be learned about the severity of Jovic's injury on Tuesday. How impactful a potential absence would be depends on Tyler Herro's status, as he was a late scratch due to a toe injury flaring up.
Nikola Jovic (arm) will not return to Monday's game against the Raptors.Jovic landed hard on his lower back and right arm after being fouled on a dunk attempt by Toronto's Collin Murray-Boyles. While the lower back did not require medical attention, the Heat forward was taken off the court with an air cast on his right arm. Since Jovic did not attempt his free throws, he is officially done for the night and will probably miss additional time. Keshad Johnson entered the lineup because the Heat were also without Tyler Herro (toe).
Tyler Herro (toe) will not play against the Raptors on Monday. After returning from a toe injury to face the Magic in the Heat's most recent game, Herro is out again as Miami tries to stop a four-game skid. Simone Fontecchio will start in his place, joining Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, and Norman Powell. Herro has had a productive season, though he's only appeared in six games due to various injuries. When healthy, he's been one of the Heat's top scoring options, and should continue to be once re-entering the lineup.
