Butler is in danger of missing a second consecutive contest after sitting for Miami's loss to Boston. Jaime Jaquez Jr. might be in line for another start if Butler is ruled out after notching a double-double against the Celtics.
Butler (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Lakers, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.
Heat star Jimmy Butler is out Monday vs. the Celtics with knee soreness and is considered day-to-day moving forward.
With Jimmy Butler sidelined, Jaquez got his first start of the season, and he took advantage of the opportunity. He set a new season-high for points and recorded his first double-double of the year, though he didn't have a good night shooting the ball. The team shot 34.9% from the floor and 20.6% from beyond the arc, so Jaquez was just one of many that struggled to hit shots for Miami in this game. Butler's absence isn't expected to be a long-term thing, but if he remains out against the Lakers on Wednesday, or for one leg of their back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday, Jaquez should get more starts.
With Jimmy Butler sidelined with a knee injury, Jaquez will get his first start of the season. He hasn't been impactful in fantasy hoops this season, but this is a great opportunity for him to have a solid night.
