Kings star guard De'Aaron Fox said he has been playing the early part of this season with an injury to his shooting hand that likely includes ligament damage.
Fox's overall field goal percentage on Saturday was poor for one reason: 3-point shooting. He missed all 11 of his attempts, the last of which could have tied the game in the final seconds of overtime. Fox entered Saturday shooting 36.7% from deep, three points higher than his career mark, but that percentage will take a hit. The Kings play four games in Week 3, beginning with the Heat on Monday.
Fox told reporters after Saturday's 131-128 overtime loss to the Raptors that he is playing through a ligament injury in his left pinky finger, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports.
The Kings are without Kevin Huerter (illness), but it won't be Keon Ellis who replaces him in the starting lineup. McDermott receives the nod, adding another bonafide shooter along with Keegan Murray to the lineup. McDermott can provide points and 3-pointers, but fantasy managers should not expect too much from him in this spot.
