Brogdon will sit out the final quarter of Tuesday's game, but with the score lopsided, he may not have played much anyway. Bub Carrington should see some extra minutes down the stretch, and he may return to the starting unit on Thursday against Dallas if Brogdon remains out.
Brogdon is out for the remainder of Tuesday's game versus the Cavaliers due to right knee soreness, Varun Shankar of The Washington Post reports.
Brogdon was excellent on Saturday, tallying season-highs in points and assists while notching his second double-double. His return from a broken thumb has negatively impacted Bub Carrington's fantasy value, but Brogdon needs to be rostered in more than 33% of Yahoo leagues. There may come a time when he takes a back seat to Washington's younger players, but that time isn't now.
The Wizards are without Kyle Kuzma, who has been ruled out with a rib injury. Sarr will shift to power forward, with Valanciunas making his first start since November 8 and third of the season. He's maintained solid fantasy value despite coming off the bench, and the move to the starting lineup should boost Valanciunas in the short term.
Brogdon only played 22 minutes as the Wizards got blown out by the Clippers, but he was efficient while he was out there. He scored 17 points on 11 shots and dished out six assists while adding two steals and a block. Typical game from Brogdon when he's healthy, though the 31-year-old point guard has battled injury problems throughout his career.
