Asa Newell

Atlanta will be incredibly shorthanded for this game, with Jalen Johnson (calf) and Onyeka Okongwu (mouth) both sidelined. Krejci and Koloko will join the starting group, and there should be extra minutes off the bench available for Mouhamed Gueye and Asa Newell.

Thursday's game will be the fourth that Porzingis has missed due to left Achilles tendinitis. His absence has resulted in additional minutes for Mouhamed Gueye and Asa Newell, but neither has done enough to merit being rostered in most fantasy leagues.

Gueye is dealing with a sprained right ankle. With Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles) already out, the Hawks can ill afford to lose another rotation frontcourt player. Asa Newell's playing time would jump considerably if Gueye can't play on Thursday.

Newell left Sunday's game against the Warriors in the second quarter with a right quad contusion and didn't return. The 20-year-old forward is available Tuesday against the Lakers, but doesn't have a fantasy-relevant role and thus isn't worth rostering in most redraft leagues.

Newell played four minutes before exiting Sunday's game with a right quad contusion. While the Hawks announced that the rookie was questionable to return, he did not. Atlanta won the game big, so Newell likely would have picked up a few more minutes in the fourth quarter. Hopefully, he won't have to miss time, but the rookie forward's status won't affect redraft leagues.
