George is set to return from a five-game layoff on Wednesday. The Jazz point guard should bump rookie Isaiah Collier back to the bench if he assumes his usual role against Charlotte.
George has missed their last five games, and there is definitely a chance that he makes it six absences in a row. Isaiah Collier has played well as a starter in his place and had 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in their last game. However, his value will take a hit if he returns to a reserve role.
After taking a hard fall in the fourth quarter after getting fouled on a dunk, Collier briefly exited this game, but he was able to return to close it out. He ended up having his best game as a pro and setting a new career-high for points, which included a layup with two seconds left in overtime to give the Jazz the win. Collier has played well as the starting point guard recently, but he was finally able to figure things out as a scorer in this one. They only have two games next week, which makes him a difficult player to justify streaming.
Collier was having arguably his best game as a pro before his early exit. In 27 minutes, he had 19 points (7-of-10 FGs), seven rebounds, six assists and three 3-pointers. He took a hard fall after getting fouled on a dunk and ran to the locker room without taking the free throw. Brice Sensabaugh took it for him, which means that Collier can't return to close out this game. It's unclear if this will impact his availability for Wednesday's game against Charlotte, though the Jazz only have a two-game week coming up.
In what should be quite the tank off, Utah will be without four of their five preferred starters. Williams and Eubanks will be the new faces for this game, starting in place of Lauri Markkanen (back) and Walker Kessler (rest).
