This was Civale's worst start since being acquired by the Brewers a few weeks ago. He could not command his cutter and fell behind far too many batters. He allowed a hit in all but one inning and was pulled after allowing his second home run. He's been a huge disappointment this season as his ERA rose to 5.17.
He'll be followed by Aaron Civale on Sunday. Fantasy managers should plan accordingly. Peralta was effective, if inconsistent, in the first half -- registering a 4.11 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 130/36 K/BB ratio over 103 innings through hisf first 19 starts. He'll be opposed by Twins' right-hander Pablo Lopez on Saturday.
In Civale's first start as a Brewer, he allowed three homers and four runs and received no decision. In his second start, he did this and gets a loss. Fair sport. Civale was excellent, he just ran into the immovable object that is Paul Skenes, and the RBI double he allowed to Yasmani Grandal was enough for Civale to take the L. It was still a very encouraging outing with six strikeouts against two walks. Civale should make his next start shortly after the All-Star break, and he'll take a 4.94 ERA into that outing.
Cruz had been held out of the lineup for the last two games while battling a hamstring injury, but he'll make his return in time to face Aaron Civale on Thursday. He should be put back in all fantasy lineups given how hot his bat was before the two-game absence.
The trade deadline will shake up more than a few teams, but before that, some trends of the week
