The Phillies could use Hays in a platoon with left-handed hitting Brandon Marsh in left field as they eye the playoffs.
Marsh missed Monday's game with a sore elbow but not only returned on Tuesday but will be back in the lineup on Wednesday even against a left-handed pitcher. Even with Marsh in a bit of a slump, the Phillies are clearly intent on keeping him in the lineup, which is good news for fantasy managers in deeper formats where Marsh's mild power/speed combo can be useful.
Marsh is back in left field and batting seventh after sitting out Monday's game due to right elbow soreness. It doesn't sound like a serious concern moving forward. The 26-year-old outfielder is slumping a bit at the moment, batting just .205 (9-for-44) with two homers and two steals over his last 15 games.
Marsh (elbow) will start in left field and bat sixth in Tuesday's game versus the Twins.
Monday in Minnesota was the first of many upcoming games for the Phillies against a right-handed starting pitcher but Brandon Marsh was absent from the lineup with a sore elbow.
