Stott had a solid day at the plate in the Phillies' loss to the Marlins, collecting three hits. He started with a base hits in the first and sixth innings, then doubled to drive in a run in the eighth before scoring on a single by Brandon Marsh. It was Stott's fourth multi-hit game in his last four contests. The 26-year-old second baseman is slashing .249/.322/.373 with 11 homers, 60 runs scored, 54 RBI, and 29 steals across 506 plate appearances.
Oller gave up five hits, walked five and struck out six. He had allowed just one run in his first five innings, but the Phillies broke through in the sixth inning. Oller allowed a home run to Bryson Stott, walked J.T. Realmuto and gave up a single to Brandon Marsh before he was removed in the sixth inning. Realmuto and Marsh both scored after Oller left the mound. He had allowed just one run in 11 2/3 innings with 14 strikeouts in his previous two starts. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Pirates on the road next week.
Marsh has picked it back up of late, batting .379 with two homers, four doubles and two steals in his last 11 games. He's reached base eight times in the first two games against the Blue Jays.
Marsh's home run was his 14th of the year. He hit a three-run shot off Charlie Morton in the sixth inning. Marsh has hammered right-handed pitching this year with each of his 14 home runs coming against righties. He's hitting .246 with a .743 OPS and 51 RBI on the season.
