
It's an added bonus for Ramos that he's being considered for leadoff duty following last year's 22-homer breakthrough campaign. The 25-year-old former top prospect doesn't fit the mold of a prototypical table-setter since he lacks elite on-base skills, but he's always put up strong numbers against southpaws. It'll likely be LaMonte Wade Jr. atop San Francisco's lineup against right-handed pitching.
The 33-year-old hurler did manage to punch out four opposing hitters in the contest while allowing only one base on balls. While there were plenty of baserunners against him, all of the damage came via the long ball with Casey Schmitt socking a solo dinger in the second inning and LaMonte Wade Jr. adding a solo shot in the fourth. Taillon has had a mediocre spring through his first two starts, registering a 4.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 6/1 K/BB ratio over six innings.
